Grief and Gratitude – Joy amid Sorrow

 

These pictures are posted on the wall of my office.  They illustrate the paradoxical feelings that bubble up in me and likely will forever.

I am grateful beyond words for our trip to Moab, just one month before Daniel’s accident, and for these photos and memories of our three kids enjoying some of their last carefree moments together on earth.

Looking at these photos everyday sometimes brings a smile and at other times evokes a tear.

I am grateful and I grieve:  there is joy amid sorrow.
